Places to visit in Jaipur Day 01

Hawa Mahal: Jaipur’s most distinctive landmark, the Hawa Mahal is an extraordinary pink-painted delicately honeycombed hive that rises a dizzying five stories. It was constructed in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh to enable ladies of the royal household to watch the life and processions of the city. The top offers stunning views over Jantar Mantar and the City Palace in one direction and over Sireh Deori Bazaar in the other.

City Palace: Located in the heart of the Pink City Jaipur, the City Palace was where the Maharaja reigned from. This palace also includes the famous 'Chandra Mahal' and 'Mubarak Mahal', and other buildings which form a part of the palace complex. Today, the 'Chandra Mahal' has been turned into a museum which is home to unique handcrafted products, various uniforms of the rulers and many more things pertaining to the royal heritage of the City Palace.

Jantar Mantar: There are plenty of observatories all over the world, but the Jantar Mantar is considered to be one of the largest observatories ever built. Combining religion, science and art, the Jantar Mantar is the name given to a series of five, magnificent structures built in Jaipur, New Delhi, Ujjain, Varanasi and Mathura. Jaipur was the seat of Maharaja Jai Singh II during the 1720's and this is when this magnificent structure was built here. The Jantar Mantar in Jaipur is considered to be the largest of the five observatories and also houses the world's largest sundial.

Ishwar Minar (Sargasuli): It is known as the tower to heaven. It is situated near the Tripolia gate in the capital city of Rajasthan. It was built by Sawai Ishwari Singh in 1749 to commemorate a grand battle victory. Rajasthan is known for its beautiful architectures, This Tower is one of them. This is the highest tower dominating the sky. Maharaja Sawai Ishwari Singh defeated Madhosingh in the battle. The war took place because of some internal disputes between Maharaja Sawai Ishwari Singh and Madhosingh. The tower was built as a sign of victory. You can have a look at the whole Jaipur city from this tower as it is situated at the heart of the city. Jaipur is a harmonious blend of culture, education and religion.

Albert Hall (Museum): Lies in the Ram Niwas Garden. It is a vast and verdant garden housing a zoo, a greenhouse, an aviary, a museum and a sports ground. Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh II built it in 1868 as a relief project for his famine struck subjects. The zoo has a very depressing atmosphere as badly nourished bird and animals have to survive here in their artificial homes with no sympathy or medical care.

Day 02:

Royal Gaitore : Final resting place of the Maharajas of Jaipur, Gaitore is popular for its cenotaphs or ‘Chhatris’, well known as Gaitore Chattris. Symbol of the popular Rajput style of architecture, this amazing place attracts a large number of visitors from all parts of the world.

Jal Mahal: Jal Mahal Jaipur also known as Water Palace is considered as one of the most beautiful architectural palace that was built with the Mughal and Rajput craftsmanship. Jal Mahal palace provides a charming view of the Man Sagar Lake and the Nahargarh hills that border it. It is considered an architectural beauty built in the Rajput and Mughal styles of architecture. The boats are traditionally built by boat makers of Vrindavan and a ride to Jal Mahal in those boats takes you to the beautiful history of Rajasthan.

Amber Fort: Amer Fort is the best tourist attraction of Jaipur and the sprawling complex combines both immense fortifications with unexpected beauty and charm. The fort which visitors are able to explore today dates from the 16th century and is situated on a natural ridge 11km north of Jaipur.

Jaigarh fort: The Jaigarh fort in Rajasthan is most amazing forts of the 3 hilltop fortresses that dominates the pink city of Jaipur. Jaigarh fort is also called as the “Victory Fort of Rajasthan”. This fort proudly stands at the heart of thorn-scrub Mountains of Rajasthan that convey a sterner appearance to the other arresting Forts. Jaigarh fort is placed at a distance of about 15kms from Jaipur.

Panna Meena ka Kund: Jaipur is the city where every place itself speaks about the royal history of the place. Such a place is Panna Meena Ka Kund which is also popular as Panna Mian Ki Naoli. Visiting this beautiful place during Monsoons will give you the memorable experience that you will remember through out your life.

Elephant Village: Hathi gaon ( Elephant village ) is a small village that was set up by the government in 2010 to give proper shelter and water facilities to all the families and their elephants that served tourists in and around Amer Fort during the day.

Galta Ji (Monkey Temple):  A pre-historic Hindu pilgrimage site, the Galtaji Temple, is located only 10km away from Jaipur. One of the jewels of Jaipur, the temple complex encompasses natural fresh water springs and 7 holy 'kunds' or water tanks. Among these kunds, the 'Galta Kund', is the holiest one and is believed to never get dry. A spring of pure water flows from the 'Gaumukh', a rock shaped like a cow's head, into the tanks. A spectacular structure, this magnificent temple is built in pink sandstone, amidst low hills, and is structured to look more like a palace or 'haveli' than a traditional temple. The Galta Monkey Temple has a back-drop of gorgeous landscape featuring lush green vegetation, and offers a fascinating view of the city of Jaipur.
